BROADCAST: Weird weekend planned for C4

Comedian Adam Buxton, Paralympic presenter Arthur Williams and foodie Clem Green are to front a Channel 4 programme about weird and wild weekends.

The trio will hosts The Great Escapists (w/t), from Little Gem Media, the fledgling indie established in September 2014 by Maverick TV’s former director of programmes Ben Gale and ex-Princess Productions exec Natasha Bondy.

The hour-long film will follow the three as they make the most of their weekends.

Buxton will go camping on Dartmoor and check out a sustainable eco-pod campsite in Devon, while Green will learn to ride ponies and forage for food. Finally, Williams is to go free-diving, wild swimming and sea kayaking.

The show, which will air later this spring, was commissioned by C4’s head of features Gill Wilson and Tim Hancock, commissioning editor, daytime and features.

The Great Escapists is the latest C4 commission for Little Gem, which is also responsible for How To Lose Weight Well and Never Seen A Doctor.
